Can I download KotobaPlay now?
Not yet. The public production download remains unavailable while activation and release checks are completed. This page will show a verified installer link when it is ready.
Does the trial renew or charge automatically?
The one-time 3-day free trial starts when your first account completes email verification. It is separate from Stripe billing and does not automatically create a paid subscription. A paid plan begins only after you deliberately complete checkout.
Which subscription plans will be available?
KotobaPlay will offer the same full access for $3 USD per month, $7.50 USD every three months, or $25 USD per year. Each paid plan renews at its stated interval until cancelled.
Where do the shows and subtitles come from?
KotobaPlay does not provide video, streams, or subtitles. You watch through Stremio and select a Japanese subtitle track, or load your own matching subtitle file.
What runs locally?
Core Japanese parsing and the bundled dictionary run on your PC. Optional context explanations and local translation require a separate local model. Email sign-in, subscription checks, Stripe billing, and online pronunciation use internet services.
Which computers are supported?
The prepared installer supports Windows 10 and 11 on Intel or AMD 64-bit PCs. macOS, Linux, Windows on ARM, phones, and browser-only Stremio are not currently supported.
How will cancellation work?
Once billing is live, subscribers will be able to open Stripe’s customer billing portal from KotobaPlay to manage or cancel. Access continues through a paid period when cancellation is scheduled for its end.
